Raise money for charity at Love Luton's Remembrance Ride

The 200km cycle ride, from Luton to Staffordshire, will begin on Saturday, September 12. The cyclists will leave from the war memorial at Luton Town Hall and travel to the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire, where a wreath will be laid.

Cyclists will be encouraged to raise money for one of the remembrance ride's chosen charities which includes Keech Hospice Care, the Royal British Legion and Help the Heroes, they can also choose their own charity to support.

Linsey Frostick, chairperson of Love Luton, said “Love Luton is proud to have played its part in supporting some of Luton’s best ever events during the last 10 years.

"This year’s Anniversary programme focuses on some of our most exciting and successful events to date. The bike rides have always been our most challenging and rewarding events.

"It was a great personal achievement for me and many of the cyclists who have taken part over the years raising more than £30,000 for charity.

"The remembrance ride is open to anyone who wishes to take part. It is not only for experienced cyclists but those who would like to set themselves a personal challenge and experience the feeling of a fully supported professional cycling event."

Funded by private sponsors, Love Luton was formed in 2010 to lead the town’s bid for city status. Since then, it has supported some of Luton’s biggest events, including the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations, the Olympic Torch Relay, the half marathon and 10k and the Luton’s Best awards.
